About Us

Little Crackers Nursery, situated at the heart of Crackley Hall School, is carefully structured for two-year olds, three-year olds and pre-school.

The nursery is based in two rooms and benefits from having access to three outdoor spaces, our covered play area at the front of school, our Garden Room and our very own wood. The rooms reflect the different areas of the curriculum and children are able to explore many different activities from mathematical concepts and early writing skills to painting, scissor skills, sand and water and role play.

Our children also enjoy trying new activities at an early age including music, dance, PE, Forest School and French lessons, all taught by specialist teachers.

A nursery or rather a Kindergarten did exist on the site during the St Joseph School days, occupying a pre-fabricated building on the terrace below the school. At the time of the merger with Princethorpe College the nursery moved into the conservatory, a former orangery, in the main house and the Little Crackers name was adopted shortly afterwards.

Originally operating on a term time only basis, for 35 weeks a year, the nursery moved to 48 weeks a year in 2011 and then to 51 weeks a year in 2017 to cater for the needs of busy parents.

Little Crackers Nursery and Crackley Hall School, along with Princethorpe College, and the Crescent School in Bilton Rugby, now form The Princethorpe Foundation, a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity.

The Nursery was last inspected by the ISI in October 2017 as part of a whole school inspection of Crackley Hall School. The school received the highest possible ratings across all criteria. The report, published on the ISI website, consists of two elements, a focused compliance inspection, encompassing statutory standards, and an educational quality inspection evaluating pupils’ achievement, including their academic and personal development.

In their report inspectors commented that, "Pupils from the Nursery onwards make excellent progress."

In May 2018 Little Crackers was recognised by the Warwickshire Inclusion Kite-Marking Scheme, which celebrated the Nursery's excellent pre-school provision and also recognised the high standard of inclusive care provided by the nursery.
