Forest School Helps Children Connect With Nature

09 Oct

Forest School is one of our specialist sessions, led by expert teachers, and is a regular part of nursery life, helping our youngest learners connect with nature while building valuable skills through a mix of activities and play.

No matter the weather, we take our children out to our own woods for Forest School. Each session starts with the group gathering at the log circle to revisit our Forest School rules. Then, the children set off to explore the woodland. After the first rain in a long while, last week the children were fascinated by the raindrops glistening on the leaves and enjoyed discovering just how slippery the slide had become.
There were plenty of helping hands as the children encouraged each other, working together to explore their surroundings and develop their confidence, curiosity and teamwork skills. Whether they were zooming down the slide, swinging through the fresh air, cooking in the mud kitchen, or wandering along the woodland paths, every moment was filled full of discovery and learning.
